GRADUATE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCESGERMAN TURKISH MASTERS PROGRAM

Courses

The German-Turkish Masters Program in Social Sciences is divided into four semesters. The first year (or two semesters) takes place at the Graduate School of Social Sciences at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara Turkey. The second year (or semesters three and four) takes place at the Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences, Institute of Social Sciences, at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

During the first three semesters, students will take three main courses or modules. Each semester at METU will also include a language course (either German, Turkish or if proficient in both, a third language of your choosing). During the fourth semester, a study project or Masters Thesis is completed under the close supervision of an advisor. Finally, a 12-week internship is completed in either Turkey or Germany. All of these program parts are required to obtain the 120 ECTS Credit Points and to obtain the MA degree.
